As a loyal customer of GM, all my life, I hate to say...Chevrolet really missed the mark with this car, specifically in the overall design. Sure it has a supercharger in it, but what top end muscle car doesn't these days, and more to follow.

As for the pony wars...I think Ford's Shelby GT500 and/or Boss 302 will run away with this segment. Let's hope I'm wrong, but realistically, you need both power and LOOKS to sell cars, and the ZL1 is lacking in looks. It's nothing more than an SS with a bulged hood and lower front bumper, nothing to set out from the rest. I think an SS with the ground effects package looks meaner and more balanced. What were they thinking with all that suede on the interior, and that ugly steering wheel.

All I can say is good luck with this one Chevrolet, you'll need it, and thanks for the design flaws, it just made my SS more valuable.

I agree with you there. I'm actually really turned on by the new Boss 302. Ford made big changes for a track car. And the Cobra is a huge difference over both the GT and Boss 302. however, the GTs are lacking in a lot of areas compared to the Camaro SS so any changes/differences on the GT is big. But I don't think there is huge differences between the cars besides the supercharger, yes a better built LSA motor, and the magnetic suspension. But the price this will be out won't be worth it to me, and to others also.

Meh

It's interesting, and I'll never complain about more power... but I don't see anything here that makes me regret buying my SS in September. The only thing I'd really want on that list is the mag shocks; the rest of it I can do on my own if I want to badly enough.

My question is how close is this going to be allowed to get to the Vette? In that, for years there's been an artificial ceiling placed on the Camaros because "the Vette guys might get mad" ... well, now we have the CTS-V coupe, and a ZL1 Camaro that can both cannibalize off the lower end Vette customers.

I guess I just don't see what the market is for this car. People who want to go high end on a Camaro, I would think, are few and far between relative to those who price themselves above the Camaro and get the Vette or the CTS. I'm happy with what I got, and I'm certainly happier at 34k than at damn near 50.

Heres an exploded view of both the ZL1's LSA and the CTS-V's LSA.

There seems to be an engine cover missing on the ZL1 pic

when i was at the philly auto show, i talked with the slp rep for a little while. he said that the zl1 has a 7.0L block (ls7) with a tvs 2300 that made 750 hp at the flywheel. maybe that's the top of the line option? i hope the lsa brings that price down from the $115,000 price tag i was told...that's way to freakin expensive.

I thought about and I figure out the main reason why I don't like the news steering wheel: it doesn't say Camaro on it. That's something I really like about the current one. It's not that I hate Chevy or anything but somehow that big logo looks out of place.

Other then that I actually like the interior, sure the shifter and really my bag, but I like the update on the design on the speedo and rev counter.

I like it.

I wished the spoiler and diffuser with quad tips should have been on the 2010/2011 SS.
At least they are on the ZR1

The heat extractor hood is a must here down in the south. My only concern is, have there ever been any problems with heavy rain fall or snow with hoods like that?

Interior redesign, well I'm not worried about. There maybe an option for leather.

As far as the power, drive train and suspension, we will get what we want with a warranty.

You have got to be joking.

Chrysler displayed the 6.4 Hemi in 2005. In late 2009 Chrysler Group LLC announced that the 6.4 Hemi would be available in the next generation SRT 8 Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300c and Jeep Grand Cherokee. So it finally makes it into the Challenger in 2011.

How is that better than what GM is doing?
