I told them that there were sporadic problems and he said there was a bulletin about it and he ordered the part. We'll see how it goes Monday.

Told him that it kept dropping the bluetooth stream from the phone and would not index my USB drive. They tried a software upgrade, at first, but then had to order the new part.

It will work with no issues as long as the PDIM in the kit is one of the newer ones. You'll also need to get the radio reflashed by the dealer so it will recognize the PDIM.

Your best bet is to talk to Gene Culley at GM Parts Warehouse. His number is in his signature about twenty posts back from here.
thats right i don't have anything in the car and want to add it just trying to get the right part number to order thanks

Got my car back this evening and its got DB/DD.

The invoice references PI0055B which I also saw referenced in this post:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=369

I haven't had too much time to play but 2 things that I know are better already:

- Remembers Random setting
- When device is plugged in to USB the radio used to always select the USB device when turning the car on regardless of what I was listening to last. Now when I turn the car on the radio plays from the last mode I was in when I turned the car off

This has been the most informative thread ever, I hope I don't have to put up with the GM dealer like most of the people on the forums.

So.... if we're now up to DB/DD does that mean that the DB/DB I purchased a month or so ago can be taken to the dealer and "upgraded" to "DD" ? Can I/we assume that as long as the first characters DB/xx remain the same, that upgrades can be done for any software version following it? Of course, non-warranty, but can be done, correct? How much does your dealership charge as a reference for future considerations? TIA.

I'd very much like to know that too. I'm at DB/DB with a 2011 built 12/10. Since the DB is the software version can it just be a simple Tech-2 update to bring it to DD? The only issue I've been noticing is that the bluetooth icon on the screen showing connection to my phone seems to indicate it is sporadically connecting/disconnecting.

If it's the same as it has been up to now, as long as the first letter of the hardware and software codes match, the PDIM will accept the update.

That would be DA/DX and the answer is no. The key is the first two letters (hardware); you have DA, latest is DB. DX is the last update for the DA module...

Dealer got my car today and I told the service writer about my problem with the PDIM.
Nice lady but she didn't even know what the function of the USB port was or how it works I had to explain it to her. I made mention of what I have found out on this thread and that a 2011 PDIM was the best fix. She says "well, I don't think we can do that but I'll have my tech2 guy look at it". What info should i shove down her throat so I don't have to do over again and get this fixed the first time.

You could try telling her that another dealer installed part number 22797218 under warranty in a 2010 Camaro based on PI0055B. Dunno if that will help but my dealer had no problem upgrading the module for me.
