41 lbs swapping stock exhaust for XSPower complete kit
3 lbs swap from stock to ASP pulley
3 lbs (just a guess) swapping stock bushings to BMR polyurethane

230 lbs total

By far the biggest difference was the wheels. Reducing rotating weight has an exponential effect as opposed to reducing dead weight. It felt like i took 300 lbs out of the car. The wheels are also 2" shorter up front and 1.5" shorter out back so that helps rolling resistance and is like a mini gear swap. I was going to buy Racing Brake rotors to save another 24 lbs but just can't drop 2 grand on them.
Thanks
I will be doing rotors soon.. I need them at mininum in front..
Wheels on hold till I pay credit cards off.. But I am staying 20in so they will be 24 to 29lbs for rears depending which rims I pick..
was thinking about battery but had problem in past with NY cold weather. I could try 21lbs one.. The Lithiums just way too much money

Thanks for all the inputs, I've taken good note of them..But, how come nobody seems to be interested in something more radical? Like dropping A/C, heavy seats for racing buckets, power windows, exchanging heavy glass windshields and windows for pespex?

I'm sure there is plenty of bulky dead weight waiting to be dumped in a 2011 Camaro...

You have to have pretty deep pockets to buy a $35k-$45K+ car and start ripping stuff out. wait a couple of years after people start to go further with these cars and they get cheaper.

The momentum autosports Camaro looks pretty light. http://momentumautosports.com/moment...-build-part-1/

The vette is seriously quick anyway, apart from it's lightweight she enjoys of the push of the 575hp of an 'American Speed' SB engine and has a 4.11 rear gears on a 4 speeds manual stick.
Don't drive down hill too fast , you may end up in Portugal [Viana do Castelo ] !!!!

Talk with Conrad and Luke over at Blu808. They stripped the Hankook Drift Camaro down to nothing. Have all sorts of lightweight parts on it also.

User names: Blu808 (Luke)
CGR (Conrad)

I've been wanting to do exactly what your plan is. I'm looking to buy a camaro next year and make it a street legal racecar. NA with as much weight loss as possible. My dad has a 67 camaro (based off of the Big Red Camaro) that is completely stripped on the inside, so I would really like to follow in his footsteps.

Hopefully you will be making a build thread and if so I will def subscribe because I am extremely interested in how much weight can be shed off of this fatty.

With enough hard work and $$$ you can make this car VERY light. With an unlimited budget I could probably get this car down to about 3,000 lbs.

With minimal $$ I took about 700 lbs out of my 98 Camaro SS and got it down to 2,750 lbs or so and it was my daily driver. With only bolt ons it made 328 RWHP/

Best 1/4 mile:

60'.......1.5229
330'......4.4810
1/8.......6.9997
mph.....97.15
1/4......11.0424
mph.....121.69
DA was +2265

Best 1/8 mile:

60'.......1.4699
330'.....4.3741
1/8.......6.8630
mph.....98.27
DA was +975

With some negative DA it would have easily been a 10.70 car.
