So to compare...I have a 3 bed 2 bath house on 1/4 acre with 2 car garage and pay 1400/mth. I drive 27 miles to durango our big town (not). Fuel is 2.39/gal and milk is 2.50/gal. We drive to farmington to shop as they have "real stores and a real mall" that means sportsman warehouse, sears etc. Durango has A walmart. On the flip side we get serious winters. Pandora is hiding in the garage and I have been running my mom card (2000 dodge durango). 2' of snow in 7 days. Our snow fall varies. Also nearest track is 4.5 hours drive and this area requires all seasons due to temperature variances
Farmington fuel is 2.09/gal...both are the price for premium. Same sized house is 700/mth and they got 10" of rain to our 2' of snow. Yes I am jealous and trying to figure out if it's worth it to move...45 minutes each way 6 days a week...I already do 30 Sorry the photos are sideways |

The biggest issue I hear and live with here is wages. Starting wage for a regular job is about 10/hr. Most people work 2 jobs or have roommates. Driving in the snow is absolutely wonderful. Dealing with all the other morons not so much. Mine is hiding because we got hit so hard and fast also my subdivision doesn't plow consistently enough. She gets worked up tomorrow to go play with her snow tires on. |
