Anyone driving their Camaro in winter?
So I live in Detroit, Michigan and we all have heard of Michigan winters. Actually it's not that bad. We get bad snow fall maybe 3 or 4 times a year which would effect driving. So for the people around the Great Lakes or the East Coast are you planning on driving this car during the winter time? If so are you planning on getting snow tires and a new set of rims for winter? Any other advice you have for winter driving i'm all ears.

Winters in SLC get pretty bad and the amount of salt they lay on the roads is insane. Not me.

Hell no! And live near Detroit.
Drove a 98 T/A in winter..kept 02 WS6 in garage.. Would NEVER wish an Fbody ride on anyone in winter. Yes, snow tires help, but the clearance will stop you DEAD in the snow. 6 years...no thanks. PS, Sandman...Have a spare set of RS 20's if you want a set to mount tires.

Banshee - I've actually never driven rear wheel drive car in winter. So i have no idea what to expect. The last 4 cars I've had (Saab 97x, Trailblazer SS, Saab 93, Hummer H2) have all had 4WD or AWD. I wont be purchasing another vehicle for at least a year. So I got to drive the Camaro for at least this winter.

Between the traction control, some common sense driving and a good set of winter tires you'll make out fine...but nothings better than a "Beater" for the snow/winter and a garage for your Camaro!

If you can afford it, get a beater. Not even because of the car's performance in the snow, but just to eliminate the wear and tear of a hard winter.

This will be my only car since I'm only turning 19 next month, so I kind of have no choice lol. Here on Long Island, the winters aren't TOO bad, but we do get some big snowstorms from time to time during the winter.

Only on nice days when there is no snow on the ground or in the sky or rain. Those are rare days, but they do happen.
