You mean while driving? Unbalanced wheels, bent rims, etc, cause vibrations in the steering wheel.

Do all they have to be driving? If not then a misfiring cylinder can cause a vibration at idle. Or a big cam can always cause a little shaking

Warped brake rotors will cause shaking when braking.

A car with screwy cylinder deactivation will shudder a bit.

Same with cars with engine start/stop hybrid tech.

Vibration when slowing down is the rotors and if the lugnuts aren't tight and good, it'll shake as well.

Those are the only experiences I've had with a shaky wheel.

If you mean general drivetrain, here are a few:

Front End -
Out of balance tire
Cupped tire
Tire that is overworn/belts showing
Tire with a "bubble"
Bent rim
Loose lug nut(s)
Warped Rotors
Bad Wheel Bearings or bearings with little grease
Front End misalignment, bad caster/camber/toe-in
Sticking brake
Bad brake hose
Malfunctioning ABS
Bad Ball Joint (cars without struts)
Broken/Bad/Leaking Shock

Rearend -
Many of the above, plus
Bent axle
Sticking Locker and/or Posi differential
Hanging emergency brake
Damaged Ring & Pinion
Damaged Spider Gears

Mid Area -
Worn U-Joints
Bent Driveshaft
Worn Transmission Bearings
General Transmission Problems
Flywheel/Clutch/Pressure plate and/or flexplate weight missing

And then about a million things that the engine could contribute...

Hope this gives you a couple of ideas.

How about a very bumpy road.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
