6.2 or 376 or 375 Cubic Inches?
I know liters are rounded up. Cubic Inches as well. Chevy says 376 cubic inches, but check my math. With a 4.06 inch bore and 3.62 inch stroke that should yield a 374.73 cubic inch engine right. Should be a 375. (volume of a cylinder is pie r squared times height). 3.14 x 2.03(2) x 3.62 x 8= 374.73. Why call it a 376?

I think you are missing the volume of the combustion chamber in your calculation.

Okay, makes sense then. Good answer. Didn't think about that. 376 it is.

To be really precise, its 376.03ci (or 6.162 liters) The calculation is based only on bore and stroke. Combustion chamber volume isn't a factor in the calculation. Your numbers are slightly off because the bore and stroke figures are themselves rounded off, as is your figure for pi (3.1415926....)
