Well the first deal I made was for a newly built Camaro that I had them confirm they could still order and they said 'yup, no problems at all'. 2 days later, they call saying they couldn't order a new one, but found one sitting on a lot across the country and would bring it in for me! At this point, to me, this was no longer the same deal, so I told them thanks but no thanks and fought 3 days to get my deposit back!

Then I negotiated for the same off the lot car through another dealership, completely over the phone, the dealer never tried feeding me any lines as he figured out I knew my stuff already! I hadn't actually met the guy until I went to pickup my car. Which cause they were announcing rain, they pulled it into the showroom so it would stay clean! Needless to say that was one dealership that really earned my respect and I will definitely give them another go next time I need another new vehicle!

Mine wasn't that they tried to lie about the car but more the deal. Thy kept offering a lease and wouldn't talk about a buy. When I had enough I left and got called back 2 weeks later, I knew he would call, and I bought the same exact car for $30 less a month than the lease.... I hope other people didnt fall for that

No lies from my dealer either, he stated: "I can tell you have done your research, so you know more about ordering this car's options than I do". I give to his honesty.

Soo.. guys how want to share some funny moments at your dealers??
As long as you know the facts of the car you're buying and get a good price what does it matter if the dealer doesn't know about 12 yr old cars

Leather seats comes to mind atm. Backup senors, mirror cam, homelink also I think.

Oh and some dealerships will install after market mods for you. This will cost you more but may save your warranty.

He told me my car was specially tuned by GM Performance Division because of the CAI and the emblem under the hood.

Worked for me. On my second SS now. "Lie" is a pretty strong word. It implies willfull deceit, and I'd be willing to bet that is usually not the motivation in most of these cases. My standard response to a question I can't answer is "I don't know, but I will find out and we can learn together". I think if more salesmen took this route, these threads wouldn't be so common.

I wouldn't have to lie working for my dealer, even if I were that type. We honor all rebates and discounts on Camaros, and we don't have any dealer markup, so every Camaro gets sold at or below MSRP. Most Camaro deals consist of a test drive, about 10 minutes of grinning, a handshake, and then straight here to camaro5 while we wait for Finance

everytime i went to buy a new car or truck, i always knew more than the dealer. if it only takes me 30 minutes to read up on a vehicle, you would think they would spend a little time learning something about what they are selling, so they dont look like a total idiot. it doesnt bother me, since i do my homework, but if i was a salesman, i would do a better job than any of the sales people they have at any dealership i have bought from.
hell, they didnt even know what i was talking about when i asked for a railcar number.

2SS has leather interior, 4 pack gauges on console, HUD, Boston Acoustics stereo, back up sensor, and damnit I know I am leaving something out!!

RS is an appearance package that can be put on any LT or SS model.
