ss running like a beast
so the other day i raced a stock ctsv and stayed neck to neck wit it
raced a stock zl1 and beat it and also beat heavily modded 01 ls1 camaro on slicks from a dig and roll and that camaro is really fast from a dig... and i thought my car was slow before that... i really thought i was going to lose to all these cars.. idk if its suppose to be on those cars level? wit my mods all i have is long tubes exhaust and intake and a super chip.. is my ss really getting a lot of power from a super chip? anyone else have similar mods? either way I'm really proud of my car although i didn't beat them by more than a car I still know if i get tuned it would be a different story |

You beat a ZL1 with just an intake and headers? You sure he was running? Not trying to be a dick but youre about 120whp less than a ZL1. (Assumed your mods were worth 50whp.) Hmmmm......

I think if OP is in the right gear he can hang and edge out some folks. But in the wrong gear some of those rides are gonna pull away.
My buddy's stock V coupe went 12.7 and I think 113. Once he personally tuned it and got some nice air to race in he went 12.18 and I think 116. From a roll depending on my gear (paddle shifted) I did well, but if I just left in drive and let the car downshift it was not as aggressive and he'd pull away.

+1. You might be down some power but don't forget an SS is still a couple hundred pounds lighter then both the ZL1 and CTS-V. Headers make a big difference on LS motors especially when they're tuned right. I would guess your "Super Chip" is a Super Chips tuner. Either the Flashpaq or Cortex tuner which is just a basic canned tune. |
