Focus ST... Seriously?!

So I've been out of the country for a year and just got back. One of my buddies that's still working where I used to work said there's this new guy with a '15 Focus ST who thinks it just the fastest thing in the parking lot. Apparently my buddy told him that there's a guy who coming back from overseas who has a Camaro that'll dust that Focus all day long. Well I just got back and haven't even met the dude or seen his car but from what my buddy said, he's got a bigger turbo on it, some bigger injectors and I'm assuming a tune just based off obvious reasoning. I thought to my self, "Really, a Focus? GTFO." I'll be on leave until after the first of the year but I don't mind a little smack talking and I'll run literally anybody whether it's a bone stock civic or a 1500hp vette given it's at a track and not on the street. I just like seeing how I fare.

So I was bored and figured I'd look at what these things usually run just for shits and giggles. Apparently their "fast list" top car runs like an 11.5 and the rest of them range from there all the way to mid 14's. Needless to say I'm not too worried. But this section seems a little slow and I figured why not post it up for some laughs. These guys are posting up about smokin' a few 5th Gen SS's and a 6th Gen SS along with some Audi's, Mustang 5.0's and some other random cars. Found it kinda funny the videos they post are chase videos where the cars probably didn't even know they were being ****ed with. Have a look and a few laughs:

Yep, guys that have them think there bad ass, hohum. Its still a Ford Focus,big deal. Call me when they have a calendar with hot babes on them.

What exactly do you have done that your not impressed with cars that run 11.5s???

Pretty much my thoughts too. It may be quick for what it is and compared to similar cars but at the end of the day it's exactly what it is.... a Ford Focus.

I never said that 11.5 for a Focus wasn't fast because it definitely is. 11.5 is pretty quick for most cars even. But that's their TOP car, period. With everything and the kitchen sink thrown at it... it better be fast. But if some of the fastest Focus ST's run mid 11's then no, im not too worried about them.

I appreciate it. That's kind of an old thread, I've had a few more things done since then which pushed the car over the 700rwhp/rwtq along with a converter and a few other goodies. She moves out pretty well.

700 is sweet. But ya still gotta get it down the track. My 95 makes over 800 and I still don't take anyone lightly.

Have you tracked it since the upgrade to 700? What converter?

What kinda times is she putting down, or have you been down the track?

Haven't had it down the track yet with the new setup, the weather has been pretty horrible here as of late. But supposedly this Sunday will be "decent" so if so, that'll be the day hopefully before they close for the season. The converter is a Circle D, high 3k rpm stall. It was running 11.2's at 128 before the new stage of upgrades with an atrocious 60ft which is mostly me, and partly the stock converter being so tight.
