looking for rear brake caliper

Hey folks,

one of my rear brake calipers has been cracked (long story, don't ask) and I now need to source one.
I didn't check GM but my shop told me they don't have them anymore.

One option is to use 2 rear brake calipers from Z06 but they are different and I'm not a big fan of this.

any recommendation on where to find a Z28 rear brake caliper?

Hawks has two salvage Z with only 8k, and 14k miles on it, give them a call they might have one available.

Maybe look at these and just have redone with z28 decals. Might be your only option. Not my store but have bought from them in the past for a custom project.

yes, this is what I am going for. i won't even bother to get a new decal to say z/28... i don't trust it to be on the caliper.
however the corvette calipers are not the same as the z/28 as the z/28 ones have larger pumps

Definitely double check this. I was under the assumption that ZR1 front calipers were the same as the Z28's and found out the expensive way, that they are not. The mounting earlobes are different and the hole for the brake hose is in the different spot. So I'm curious if the rears are similar or totally different.

From my understanding talking to several companies selling brakes is that the Corvette Z06 calipers were compatible with the Z28! If I have a chance this weekend I will pull out my Z06 calipers and put against the new passenger side front I have and compare.

Definitely keep us updated! Only real difference I've found between the Z06 and Z28 front calipers is the Z28's allow 15.5" rotors while the Z06 uses 14.5". Regardless, that's the front and this threads about the rear lol

I'd like to see a rear option, I recently got my hands on a set of Z28 front calipers and would prefer a rear upgrade to match, but rear Z28 calipers don't really exist.

yea I got off on a tangent.
I won’t waste my time checking.
If I ever get to my complete set of Z28 Rotors, pads, and calipers from being buried in the back of my shop I will post back but don’t see me being able to any time soon.
Good luck to all finding what the need.

Here is food for thought the Z06 with the Z07 package has the same size rotors granted the hats will not work but rotor size is the same so calipers might be also. Have not verified and will not as I will not be responsible for someone buying and it not working. Here is a screen shot for Chevrolet.
