Some are fine keeping older used cars while others are more accustomed to buying new regularly.

Even beyond Mustang as it all but guarantees that F-series will also retain ICE, even if at a reduced presence. Actually, I'm willing to bet it was the other way around that triggered this. F-series buyers want to keep ICE and so it'll stick around and Mustang just gets to keep going with it too as a happy byproduct.
This ^ It's the same reason ford kept offering V8 in the F-150 even with the massive push on EcoBoost. Ford knows there are truck customers that just won't consider a truck without a V8. So keeping ICE and V8 for F-150 means Mustang can piggyback off it.

Much prefer FoMoCo's strategy over GMs in this instance.

I'm not thinking about it now but when the time comes if no Camaro exists then I would give it a look.

I suppose I would rather have a Mustang than no ICE muscle car. Not my go to though, as I prefer 4 passenger vehicles!

Yes. It breaks my heart when I think of what Chevy and GM are walking away from. The once great auto maker will end up fading into the background of a sea of crossovers and EVs. It goes without saying that I will keep my personal cars.

I also think GM is in for a rude awakening if they believe that they can replace their ICE trucks with EVs. The passenger trucks and large SUVs are what is keeping the company afloat as of right now. A sudden move away from ICE trucks will plummet their market share, and even here Chevy and GM have very close rivals. We now have Hyundai as well as Toyota and other brands cutting into the large SUV and passenger truck market.

You do realize they consider the Camaro a pony car?

Mustang, the first and the last , made every year , always rear drive. Maybe Ford does have a better idea.

But it is not a mustang (horse) pony. The original Mustang was very popular amongst the female population.

Ford Mustang may have a better Idea, and Mustangs do sell very good, but Camaro always was the better car.. Camaro always was rear wheel drive.

Agreed. Just around my area, RAMs and Tundras seem to be becoming the pickups of choice.
