Our Cars Values

Hey guys just wanting to hear u guys thoughts on this. Have our cars values plummeted. As a example 21 SS with 1LE package 11K on the clock. Dealers are asking $41-47K greed i requested a quote to purchase from online buyers Carvana Ect. They only offered $34K our cars are discontinued but seem they would hold value better.

I've actually been shopping, and have been watching prices. I've been surprised to see the 1LE cars going for not much more than a 2SS. Even the 2SS 1LE cars don't seem to be bringing much more. I think the 1LE is a focused example of the whole 6th gen market. GREAT car.....collectors and drivers and Camaro fans are buying, but at the end of the day, "we" are not enough to make the car successful.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to values in the next 6 to 18 months. I'm looking for "Maybe" a new 2SS, or an example with under 15k miles. Not hard to find right now

When I first decided to get rid of mine (6 months ago). They were priced at $79,900 and were selling quickly. Auto Trader, where mine was listed, would give me weekly updates on similar sales. They dropped $10,000 during the 2 months mine was listed. Time of the year has something to do with it. The latest GT500's are also dropping and you can buy them under $80,000 now.

Right now is a terrible time to sell, but great time to buy used if you have cash and can avoid the high interest rates.

Don't base anything on the bids givien by Carvana or Vroom, they are both on the brink of bankrupcy and only buying cars they can steal. Amazon is going to start selling cars via their platform and it will kill these type of companies. Like previously stated Camaros are niche market and have a different buyer, i save about two dozen on my Autotrader( SS 1LE's specifically) list and they are still selling fairly quickly.

Bad time of year.
Newer Camaros are not yet scarce.
Vehicle loan interest rates are still historically high.
Although inflation is closer to normal, prices remain at their elevated highs and wages are lagging.

All of this takes a lot of people out of the market for a newer vehicle.

I bought mine to keep it long term. If in 10 years I decide to sell it and get 1/2 of what it's worth, ill be happy. Cars are not investments.

Down the road and years out, just watch the auctions on Bringatrailer.com and Mecum. Low production coupled with high performance variants will do quite nicely. Stock condition and low miles are cornerstones of value appreciation.

The outlook is not good for these cars.

You can pick up a brand new 4th gen perfectly preserved in 35th SS trim for $40k, not much more than they cost new, 20+ years ago.

It's taken almost 40 years for the Iroc to hit wow status on the auction block. Perfectly preserved examples go anywhere from 45-60k. Hardly more than it cost to buy, store, and care for the car for that long.

Can't take it with you, and we never know how much time we have left. That's not impetus to go out and beat on our cars, but we should drive them, have fun, use them. Not save them for someone else or in hopes to turn a meager buck. IMO, it's not worth it.

There are way better investments than today's production cars. Except for the few who purchase very esoteric, rare and highly valued cars, cars are an expense.

In my head cars are just not good investments. The work I'm doing to preserve it is all for myself down the road. I bought it to be my baby, not someone else's.

late model 1le and zl1 will be closer to s2000s in trajectory than gen4 iroc. different pedigree and different times.
