Rev it one time! Pop the truck, turn the left turn signal on! Do something!!! You wouldn't have to ask me to rev it! You'd be threatening me to stop revving it! That car sounds like a beast.
People (especially me) still get really excited seeing & hearing that car. Don't know what it is.... |

So is that the sound of the new camaro, or just the concept with the LS2 only. Are they recreating that exact sound with the new exhaust system? If so, I'm gonna spend the first day owning the car outfront of my house wasting 3 tanks of gas, just revving the damn thing. I fell in love with it all over again.

Thanks for the link. Hadn't seen that one yet.
As for the sound, my thoughts are, the exhausts on the Concept's are likely without cats, and probably have something similar to the SLP Loudmouth. Seeing as they spend most of their lives on the show circuit, they don't have a "production" set-up which a production model would require. My guess is, the production model will be quieter. I think the sound of the Concept's is something that the owners of the new Camaro will be able to replicate with an aftermarket system. |

I don't remember where I saw it, but I think they said that the sound of the exhaust was one thing that would NOT change. They spent a lot of time getting that how they wanted it.

In one interview I read; they said they worked very hard on the noise - and it'd be staying for production.

With the thread about police officers I thought this model that came up related was pretty cool

I could have been wrong in my thoughts about the sound. :o I was only on my first cup of coffee when I posted earlier.
If the sound of the production version is any where close to the concept, I'll be happy! |

Sounds good. I hope they put the same exhaust flap system on the current Z06 on the new Camaro. When you go full throttle an electric switch opens the flaps inside the mufflers and the sound is incredible. Rumor has it that you can also install a by-pass switch that allows you to open the flaps whenever you want. At idle it sounds great with the flaps open.
Imagine being at a stop light with the flaps closed and some one pulls up wanting to play...open up the flaps, rev it... JWz28. |

Sound was supposed to stay the same...but w/ an LS3 going into it, I would imagine some tweaking would be necessary. It would change those notes, right??

That sounds amazing! I hope the sound doesn't change much maybe a little less rasp but I wouldnt really mind. I will most likely be adding an electric cutout anyway to scare some people
