Drag radial tire pressure
Hey guys,
What the best (lowest) tire pressure I should be running on my 305/45R18 MT ET Street II's? I haven't gone below 20 (hot) for fear of spinning the rim or hurting something but I'd like some advice. What are you guys seeing as the optimal psi at the track? Thanks! |

18. You shouldn't need to go any lower that that.

I run mine at 17.5 psi hot. They do not spin on the wheel based on chalk marks I used to check.

I have had mine down to 15 psi and didn't have any issues. Mickey Thompson recommends 18 sot that is what I shoot for.

Cool, thanks guys! Sounds like I'm trying 18 this Saturday. I'm only a tenth away from getting into the 10's, so I'm trying to think of anything that I can.

Hot may be an exaggeration. I drive my car to the track and immediately set the rears to 17.5 for my first pass. Immediately after my first pass, and each subsequent pass, I put the gage on them and adjust to 17.5 psi if required. Warm might be a better word.

With about 550 rwhp and the stock converter you're not going to 60' much better than than. 1.60 is pretty damn good so you're not far off. Get yourself a stall.
