Leaky trunk fix

Hey fellas with all the rain we’ve been having here where I live I thought maybe some of you guys have encountered the same issue I did and that is a trunk that leaks. I think I found the fix. It is a drain tube located inside the trunk on either side up towards the rear shelf. In my car the tube was not inserted completely into the nipple that leads to the outside. I have attached a couple of pictures. One shows the disconnect and the other show the connected. Hope this helps out. Cheers.

Op, if you only connected back still keep an eye on it. If it's like mine it will continue to come disconnected on it's own. Mine happens to always be the passenger side. You may have to put a clamp, zip tie or something around it to keep it connected.

I would have put some silicone weather strip glue on it to hold it in place...

Good ideas guys. I will definitely do one of them. As far as where to purchase the drain tube I have no idea. Maybe the auto parts store would have some type of tube that would work.

Yeah, checked that. It was connected in mine. The only thing I think of is I had the trunk packed too tight and had the bag pushed up. Hasnt done it since.

I had that problem with my trunk too, I just bought a 1/2" tubing and connected the two so it wouldn't disconnect again. The tubing from the sunroof on that side just seemed too short, it would barely connect.

I used bicycle tire patch glue and a small zip tie on mine, no leaks in over a year.
