Vibration at higher speeds - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Alright so I was trying to avoid making this thread but after having my wheels balanced for the 3rd time and still having vibrations im out of ideas. I got new wheels mounted on my car a month ago and have had them road forced balanced by discount tire 3 times due to a bad vibration at 55+ mph. The wheels are Sothis wheels Sc005 20x10 +25 all the way around on nitto motivo 275/315 setup. After the 3rd time balancing and after installing hubcentric rings i still have vibration. The tires have about 25k miles on them but still have decent life left. Im just wondering if I should go somewhere else to get them balanced or if I should look at getting new tires as the gentleman at discount tire suggested. Any input is appreciated!

i would say maybe the axle needs lubed like mine does the back axle because it shakes like same thing like you but how many miles?

lol im at 75,000 miles and need to get my back axle lubed they say.. the dealer says thats why mine shakes also.

Yeah I might have to look into the axle lubing just in case. Getting into those higher miles! Im pretty positive though its a wheel/tire balance issue due to it starting to happen after I got new wheels. My front wheels also shake.

If the wheel is shaking it's likely a tire issue. There may be a broken belt in the tire or ply separation.

Road force balance is not gonna compensate for crappy Chinese wheels.

Lift the front end, shake the wheels. Look for loose areas.

Here was my issue. Your situation is similar.

Spec I have followed your issue and have yet to do jack it up and see if it is my own. I was originally thinking it was the wheels and still am but the guy at discount tire said someone came in with high end wheels and had the same issue. Said the guy just eventually just bought new tires.

I think it's more a case of some people don't know that part is supposed to swing in an arc but not "wiggle" around at the bolt area.
