Torque converter

The wife's new 5.0 let her down today...she called from work....motor revs up but car doesn't move....transmission slipping....I go check it out....acts like torque converter isn't locking up...slipping....motor revs up and car creeps along....I tried it in the sport mode and same thing...having it towed to dealer in the am.....question..I know this is a camaro forum....but a transmission is a transmission..do the new cars have solenoid or sensor that controls the converter?my concern is it an easy fix. Or a converter replacement....it's under warranty...only 6000 miles on it and she babies it...I tried looking on the mustang forums to no avail.. I know there's a wealth of info here...

Yep it's going in gear....just not fully?....when you put it in gear it should firmly engage...the engine revs but the car doesn't move in relation to the rpm's...it does the same in reverse.
