Wheel lip ground down - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Picked up some aftermarket wheels for the SS but now not sure if I can/should even run them. The back lip on both front wheels is ground down from being mounted on a vehicle they shouldn't have been on. This is just the protruding lip, the bead area is still in tact. Are they safe to run? I'm planning to just smooth it out and polish, repaint and clear the wheels.

I think you will have to provide a picture to gauge the damage.

Hopefully this works, been quite a while since I've posted or uploaded pics here.

I'm not sure if I would run those or not. I guess there is plenty of metal left at the bead seat, but that's a lot of metal ground away. I would at least file things down so there isn't a sharp edge to cut at the tire.

I hope you got them cheap.

Dirt cheap, and I plan to round the edges if I do run them. Disappointed they're like that but can't find that wheel anywhere else and for now at least, that's what I want to run on it. Not a fan of black wheels, and I've seen sooooo many other twins out running around - ss and v6 cars white with black wheels.

These are discontinued by the manufacturer -
