Unhappy Garage opener / Homelink range and distance issue

I have a rear-entry garage and a sloped driveway. I can't get the garage to open when the house is on the right (passenger side) of the car, but opens fine from the left (driver side).

Is anyone having range issues with the built-in garage opener?

Is there some sort of directional antenna inside I can move around to make it work better?

I just can't stand having to pull up to the garage door to get it to open, plus wear on my clutch taking off on my steep driveway right at the door just to stop in the garage

Same here. But, I did notice that if I accidentally obscure the bulging area around the buttons when I press it that I have problems getting it to transmit the signal efficiently. I have to put my finger on and only on the button that I press without my hand getting in the way.

30' sounds about right for mine.

I think I'm pretty close to that range as well.

I guess I'll try to get my fat hand out of the way. Funny thing is I get the 30 ft range when driving up on the drivers side maybe better, but driving up with the garage on the passenger side I have trouble. I have to get the car at an angle or facing the garage before it opens. I guess I'll see if the antenna on the opener can be moved or extended. Thanks for replying all!

Mine is the same way..I can sometimes get lucky when I first pull into the subdivision and get it to work, otherwise I have to wait until I'm about 30'-40' away before it will work...

Red face My fat hand

I'm getting better luck keeping my hand back and away from the hump by the airbag light. Thanks for the suggestion. It's still flakey if chevy is listening

Try increasing the length of the antenna wire on the garage door opener. Tell you what, I'll try it on mine, and report back.

I can open my from about 300 ft. Do not know why you guys are having such a hard time. I do have a extra tall garage though, my door is 10 feet high.
