If you don't plan on keeping the car but just a few years and don't mind passing an issue that you created onto another person, sure go ahead and just drill away. The proper way is to completely strip away the paint in the surrounding area then primer and paint. Since the deck lid on this car is so small, to get the feel and look done correctly I would do the whole outside. That is a lot of time and labor spent doing something that is already available from the factory. Or better yet like I mentioned above, hit the classified section and find a deck lid for sale that is the same color as your car.
Obviously you have no experience adding spoilers to cars. I have been doing it since 1971...
It's not that hard to treat the edges and touch up the paint edges... The holes will be covered by the spoiler there is no need to do anything to the whole deck lid. It's all covered in the spoiler installation instructions. You are trying to make it sound like rocket science when it's no different than touching up a paint chip.

Yeah I not only cut a big hole in my hood but drilled 6 mounting holes for my TL1 insert. The hood is aluminum so it won't rust, but I still touched up the paint edges. Common sense.
I'm not worried.

Wow that's retarded..

At most it would cost $80-100 for the stripes and to install a sick spoiler would cost me about $100. It might help that I know the shop very well and always go to them, but any professional shop could do it easily and cheap... Vinyl as well go to a tint shop they could do it

Hell you can get the NS1 stripes for less than $80, and stock SS spoilers are a dime a dozen. If you were close to me I would give you mine

Look on craigs list for a spoiler, and find a local stripe shop in your area to stripe your car.

Do those continue onto the rear decklid? If so, can we see?
