6l80 stuck in first any ideas?

I just worked on a g8 with a 6l80 that came from a 2010 camaro. I know the car tranny came from and know its good. I didnt install it and wasnt working on that but now im just trying to help the kid figure it out. Before he brought me car it would stall when you put in gear his buddy did a tcm relearn and cured that
I fixed the crank and installed balancer so now he can actually test drive and thats when we find only first gear
Then again his buddy hooked it up and supposedly reprogrammed tranny and still only first and ideas? Bent pin in connector bad wire??? Has a circle d 3200 stall converter also

TCMs do not have the same programming between the cars, and therefore do not
communicate properly with the ECU.

You will need to put your TCM in, or get the one in it programmed for your car.
Unless when you wrote it was reprogrammed, THAT is what was done.

The TCM and Solenoid pack are all one unit.

I have a 2010, and I can only use a transmission from another one that has the
ALN upgrade code. I have not seen the ALN code for 2011+ models.

Oh, and just asking, have to tried it in "M" and use the paddles? Those are
a direct line to the TCM.

If I were to buy a 2011-14 auto trans, I would need my TCM. Unfortunately, that is
what is failing, the Solenoids are acting up. I had oil leaks, I never took the car to
higher RPMs or speeds. That means the solenoids never moved as far as they did after I
finally fixed the oil leaks, and was able to really run the car. Also, they did not fail
while the car was running. I would turn the car off, and the next day, hard shifts
and delayed 3rd and 5th gears, sometimes 4th.

Anyhow, right away, FOUR Solenoid performance codes, after taking it to 90+ for
for the first time.
P0961, P0965, P0969, and P2762.

From then on, it was two, and these codes only come up when going over 90 MPH.
P0961, and P2762.

Now, it's one, and still, only after going over 90MPH. P2762

The solenoids are variable pressure. The harder you run it, the more they open for
fluid pressure. Well, mine were never "opened" past a certain point so they got
stuck momentarily when doing so, thus the performance codes.

Again, no hard shifts or delayed issues while driving, and going over 90. It
always waited till I shut the car off, and started it back up. I could then
turn it off, clear the codes, start it up, and it wold be fine.

So, it was then down to the TCC solenoid performance, when it was FOUR
of them from the start. Now, haven't gotten any codes.
