Project: BLACK

Hi Guys,

My name is Paul and I've been a 5th Gen fan ever since that fateful day in January 2006 when the Chevrolet Camaro Concept was unveiled. Like the majority of you, I drooled over its sleek lines and mean appearence. It was then I knew what my next car would be.

It would be a long wait and sometimes the car disappeared from mind when other priorities took my attention. Then 2008 came around and news that they were starting to take orders. And before long they started to take Canadian orders and then finally in March 2009 I placed an order for my Black 2SS/RS with IOM interior. My family thought I was crazy for purchasing a car I never even seen in person... until the 2009 Vancouver Internation Auto Show. That is where I first sat in an IOM 2SS/RS. It was breathtaking, a few weeks later I was able to take it for a test drive due to my close links to the dealership I got my car from. I was hooked.

6 Weeks later my car arrived. That was July 6, 2009. It wasn't long before I started to think about what I should do it and what I shouldn't do to it. Now, my goal for this project is to make this Camaro mine. I do plan to keep it for a very long time, it’s a “lifer”. I originally intended to keep it stock but realized life is too short to just let this car exist as is. So when I put the car into storage for the first time in November 2010 and I saw other Camaros still driving around even some that looked like mine - it hit me. Why don’t I modify mine the way I want it to give it some individuality in the sea of Camaros out there now?

It took me a while but I finally decided on the path I want to take. So I hope you guys enjoy will enjoy reading my journal and I look forward to hearing your feedback!

Sorry for the quality of some of these images. She has yet to have a real photoshoot, lol.

Expect to see in-progress shots very soon!

Thanks! I guess the best way to describe it would be the " 99% murdered" look. I plan to keep the SS badges red and the side markers and tailights their original colors.

But then again this is all a work in progress, I'm sure I'll change my mind sooner or later, lol.

Have you considered black bezels around the taillights?

I actually perfer the RS Tailights as they are. I don't want to get in trouble with the RCMP regarding my lights!

Light has to be able to be seen from 1,000 feet. Though if someone rear ends you you could be the one considered to be at fault.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police

While the lights shine through, we need to have the colors to be able to show during the day and if reflected on at night.
