Its unreasonable to expect any different from the Z
Paying more than $4k for 21" wheels isn't what I consider optioned out. Also, there is no nav option for Camaro's nor will there be. I paid $36 for a 2SS/RS w/ Sunroof so that leaves $14k in wiggle room.

I should have qual'd optioned out with ignore the overpriced factory 21" package.

So, what do you consider the HUD integrated with On* turn-by-turn?

I kind of don't see how they could build and test a z28 with a gt500 at the track -- and then release something that doesnt beat the car we just saw them testing and competing against.

And then it will leapfrog, and the next mustangs will be mo better faster. Then GM. Then Ford. Ad infinitum.

Just buy what you like.

One would assume, except for the fact that by engineering a car to beat the current model year (2011) GM could be leaving themselves wide open to competiton against an even stronger 2012 model-year GT500.

That was the point I was trying to make in my earlier post. Nobody knows what Ford is bringing to the table for the 2012 model year, so we better hope GM has set their performance target higher than the 2011 model.

You have a point. When I say nav I'm meaning a few thousand dollar package which includes the upgraded stereo/screen/electronics package or whatever jazz.

The HUD is a part of the 2SS package already so there is no option to add it if I am not mistaken.

I would bet little to no change in 2012. By little mean a power boost to an exhaust revision or revised intake. I wouldn't expect a huge change like 2010->2011 change from cast iron block to aluminum. Just my thoughts.

They've put alot of R&D into the car... they need to let some sales rake in and profits on the R&D and manufacturing setup necessary to produce the car.

I could be entirely wrong though. Either way, i'm excited about the competition.

Edit: Really slow day at work here... REAL SLOW.

(note: artist rendering)

while i think that looks cool and all -- there is no evidence of a divider in the side pieces on either side (look closely at the pictures that have been taken) - and they arent slanted. they are straight up and down. i think the design would be more true to the image that was released by Motor Trend - and the one that has the clay model of the Z28 in it.

just because Bumblebee changed to a popular design does not mean that its the Z28 design. Shouldn't be reading that much into it..

I think GM has more in store for us than we are thinking about...

No, there is no option but roughly 60% of Camaros have been either 2SS or 2LT, and as of the 2011 MY they're the ones that get the HUD. So from here out, looks like most Camaros built will have a system to help owners navigate.

Maybe its just me, but I hate the idea of having to look at a tiny little screen by my radio to see where I have to go. Give me an actual paper map any day.

I hate to play the devil's advocate here, but did anyone notice the stock V6 Breaks on that thing? If they were truly testing an engine with that much power, why wouldn't they have the Brembo breaks on it? I saw the picture that shows the interior posting the 6.2 SC V8, but it could just as easily be "Stock Car" as it could "SuperCharged" at this point.
