I'm not a hater !!
.. i repeat .. I'm not a hater..
but some cars ( looks ) just don't improve with updates. The 6th Generation Camaro could be one of those Japanese sports cars or like a Mazda 6 or something .. not to much left of the the all American Muscle Car Look. Again I'm not hating because I don't have the latest model ( thats usually the reason for people hating ) . I drive a 2015 model and I already don't like the new tail lights to much. I think the one of the model before .. 2012 etc.. have more of the old school Chevrolet look .. like the old Corvette . I don't know if this model 2016 will be as successful and popular than the model before .. ( I remember the 2010 charger was very popular and when the new model came out around 3 years ago they took "muscle " our the car too) |

If you park it next to a 5th generation Camaro, it doesn't actually look that different. Have you even seen one in person?

The 6th Gen came out this year to get a fresh car on the market and a jump in sales the year before the 50th anniversary model comes out. It's all marketing.

I agree with the OP. Also the new Camaro design is a bit too "busy" for me and it has lost some
of it's uniqueness over everything else on the road. "Change for changes sake" is not always a good thing imo.

Everything changes, nothing stays the same. I love the look of the 6th Gen. The only thing I wish it had is a cowl like hood.

I also don't think it looks that different. Willing to bet non-Camaro folks may not even notice that much difference, especially when a 14 or 15 are next to a 16. And as far as the 14-15 tail lights go, I'm one of those guys who like the look better than the earlier models. I like the more modern look of them, yet they still have some of the 1st and 2nd gen style to them.

I honestly don't see a Japanese or European look in this new car at all. You could remove the emblems including all traces of anything to do with GM and it would still first Scream Chevrolet and for sure a Camaro.

I was surprised when I went to the dealer to see the 16. They had a row of 15s and 16s mixed together and I couldn't get over how much they looked alike. Especially since they don't hardly share a common part. It's really not that much smaller. You can't see the size difference side by side

Here is my 12 next to a 16 at the dealer.
I saw one on the road the other day coming towards me and didn't recognize it as a 16 until I saw the side view as it went by.
