Unfortunately it seems that GM's right hand doesn't know what its left is doing. The GM Executive Office tells me that they spoke directly with the Camaro brand quality manager and the clutch engineer that is responsible for the system on the Camaro, and there are no new parts for the SS, only the V6. I don't know if that's true or not, but that's what they claimed.

I don't think an after market clutch is the real fix for this issue, the real fix is GM standing by there product and doing whats right for there customers.
Couldn't agree more.

I do not own one yet, just waiting for the right time but when I do, I do not expect a clutch that "sticks" at the floor or half way up. If they can't make a hydraulic clutch that is foolproof then they should get back to the basic cable system.
Shhhh! Don't say that! They've done it before and they might do it again!

Why? Because everyone that claims a clutch issue also agrees to have been driving aggressively?

Just to clarify. I'm here to give an unbiased view on this. I agree that if there really is an issue GM should fix it. But I still have suspicion that this is occuring due to user error.

No Because this IS a real issue, I happen to have the same problem and mine STINKS and STICKS all the time. Mine has even burnt up backing out of the driveway and I do KNOW how to drive a stick, been doing it for 20 years on muptipull cars.
And YES. It's a performance car if you put moderate load on the clutch this shouldent happen, I would except nothing less from a BMW or a Nissan I wont except it from chevy.

some might claim the driving aggressively might cause the problem to occur

i was driving at 20 mph and i could't shift which i should consider it life threatening issue need to be sorted as soon as possible by GM

And you still proved my point......
All I'm saying is, I haven't seen a single case where the driver didn't put some sort of initial stress on the clutch.
Whether it is an issue or not is not my argument.
How is GM suppose to take any of these cases seriously when we all abuse our clutches.

How many miles are on the car and how many when this happened. I don't know your circumstances, however, I've always driven relatively mild for the first 500 miles with the thought the clutch would get broken in. Having done that for several clutches, I must say I hadn't had a problem unless I abused it. If I see drive aggressively, that implies something that's pretty subjective, because to me, driving aggressively can be totally different than what you mean. Reproducing it on a brand new car, with ten miles, just doesn't really mean, to me, that there's a problem with the clutch. I don't know if the friction materials have changed so significantly in the last ten years that they don't require break-in, but this is a heavy car, with a lot of torque, and if someone's going to drive aggressively right off the bat, I don't know that that's within the limits of the OEM clutch.

Too many questions, but I do hope it gets resolved. If there's a problem, and it's the fault of GM, I do hope they fix it for you.

Good luck.

Mike 1027, I'm not trying to actack you I'm just very frustrated with this as many are, and defending that this is an issue with the car.

I understand. I didn't see your response as an attack, I'm just trying to clarify my point.

I just had knee surgury, when I recover enough in a week or two I plane on takeing it in, I'll post what happens, I love the car and allways had my clutches last longer than 100k, but on this one, as much as it burns, I dont see it last more than 30k and I'll be forced to replace it.
