New TRex Phantom Black Billet Grill. Upper and lower.

New TRex Phantom Black Billet Grill. Upper and lower.
I put this on over the weekend. I freaking love it.
for those of you who have considered this grill but worried about it messing with your headlight brightness, no worries.
It is still illegal though due to the fact it covers the headlights.

From the moulding on the roof, I don't think it's an RS... so no halos.

I really like the looks of this grill but my concern is cleaning the lights due to bugs etc.

the billet i "tight".. haven;t noticed anything but some bugs stick to the grill..they brush right off...I'll keep an eye on the headlights and how and if they get filthy.
I bought this on the recommendation on a guy that had the stainless version for about a year. He couldn't;t think of anything he didn't like about it.

Looks good with the black and yellow. Is it legal in your state?

NOT TRUE....DEPENDING ON YOUR STATE

I had mine on for a year and was stopped numerous times, never once was asked about the grille.

Theres no reason why it would be illegal??? EVen if it covers the "headlight" Light still passes through which is what is required for driving laws i.e if your headlight is out, and no light is shining through then thats illegal because your causing a risk to everyone else on the road, but if the headlights are cosmetically covered but light passes through normally like every other car then it really doesnt matter.

Light shines through with no problem or distortion, so like I said theres no reason why they would be illegal...

Also Trex the original makers of the phantom grille would have to advertise it as such for liability purposes but they dont because its not an issue..

also bugs are not a problem, I never took mine off in the year I had it and did not have a single bug back there,.. Its really easy to take off so clean the headlights every so often is not an issue

hope this helps

here in Ohio, it would be illegal...anything covering a headlight is illegal (even a clear vinyl cover)...it's all up to the officer who pulls you over & wheither they decide to ticket you for it or not

I guess... if you say so... but law wise their only concern should be if light is being emitted from the headlight and if its visible and with this grille it is ..
