Wicker Bill Missing Part Number

I have two Z28 wickerbills in my possession (showing off I know).

They are both identical in weight, color, dimensions and material of construction except one has a GM 23200132 part number stamped and the other lacks the stamp.

Were there any replicas made, or is this as suspected, an early prototype used in 2014 Camaro Z/28's Nürburgring lap time of 7:37.40 making it more valuable than a Bitcoin in November 2021?

I won't be selling this rare virgin wickerbill, however I accept either a Faberge Egg or a Stradivarius Violin in part exchange.

Your wickerbill with GM # is the only genuine one.

This. Under no circumstance would you have the prototype(s). I know who does, but it certainly did not, nor ever, will leave the place its at.

I also have one that does not have the part number on it. I received it from a long time SCCA racer Bill Moore, of MS Motorsports in the Cleveland area that had been "back door" supported by GM. Bill told me that he was continuously being sent parts for him to test on his race Camaro and that he then gave feedback to the engineers at GM. He also said that almost all of the pieces were suspension parts and these parts eventually became production parts on the Z28. I suspect these parts weren't assigned official part numbers until they were deemed ready to go into production, hence the lack of a part number stamped on it.

I’ll jump on this.
I have a stack of rare prototype wickerbills I’ll sell for $2k each. Of course no paperwork.
Or: todays special
I’ll sell you one with gm # stamped for $85k, comes with a 14’ sim Z28 attached.

I'm enjoying the raft of responses, not to out anyone but I've received plenty of PMs, Z28 owners offering their first child in part exchange.

However on August 6th I'll perform a back to back double blinded comparison between the two variations of wickerbills at Laguna Seca, to determine which variant offers the greatest performance gain.

SIM Ghostridr - $85k is a steal for a genuine wickerbill.

Kevin ZL1 - (sarcasm off) I've had a separate PM citing a similar account but supplied via GM.

1970s Judge - Tell us more about the prototype, you're being a tease! Can you get a photo of it?

Just an observation, doesn’t the original gm wickerbill not only come with a part number but also have oblong holes for mounting?

Exact(other than gm#) pieces where sold on eBay/Amazon. I haven’t checked lately. I had helped a ZL1 owner find one but then he ended buying a GM# from forum member because he wanted OEM.

I’m not saying yours is not special because I don’t know where it came from. But one thing in life I’ve found out. Many folks say a lot of things but it doesn’t make it so. We have a saying in my line of work. Trust but verify.
