I say the producton numbers are lower on the Colorado so there are probably fewer being shipped to dealers inventory.

Im sure this has something to do with it, when you have less going to dealers, they are going to move quicker. Still very impressed by Colorado sales.

ughhhhhhh those names sound awful. Let me guess, the Escalade is going to keep its name though probably. the V-series cars are going to sound even stupider.

I was away doing humanitarian aid and I got infected with CT4-V. I'm going to be quarantined for a while.

It might not be too bad if they call them the V# like BMW does with the M3, M4 etc.

GTX, GTO, CTS, CT6... Is one really better than the other?

The old ones earned their reputation and made the name legendary. CTS-V means something very special to me now whereas it was a stupid new name 10 years ago. Build a great car and the name will become great

But you will confuse a lot of people if you made a V6 with a V8

Assuming there is a V variant of the CT6

The all new Cadillac V6 powered by a LT4- supercharged V-8....wait wut

or assuming the CT4 is the CTS replacement

The Brand new Cadillac V4Sport powered by a TT6.....wait wut or you have the regular V4 powered by a V8???

my brain hurts now haha

The new naming scheme makes sense. It's just dumb and unnecessary.

I would have essentially kept the current naming plan, but put in place a set of rules to organize it:
  • First letter designates approximate size. A for compact, C for midsize, E for full size.
  • Second & third describe body type: TS for Touring Sedan, TC for coupe & convertible, TW for wagon, some other pairing for crossovers/SUVs (possibly XU for crossover/utility).
  • Specialty niche vehicles get a __LR designation for 'Limited Run' (following up on the XLR and ELR).
  • Range topping vehicles in the lineup get a proper name, such as Escalade for SUVs and Eldorado or Fleetwood for cars.
  • Performance variants maintain the -V at the end, and this be adapted to alternative powertrains as well (-E for electric, -H for hybrid or hydrogen)
It makes at least as much sense as the new system, but it doesn't throw away what they're doing right now (well, except for the SRX & XTS but they're on the way out soon anyways). Plus it can make your apparent product portfolio explode (CTS, CTS-V, CTC, CTC-V, CTW, CTW-V, CTS-E, and so on).

Really at the end of day as long as they come out with an awesome car they can call it poop for all I care. "I just lost a race to a poop-v!"
