Oh wait, this thread has no topic.

I agree, you sell what the public wants otherwise you end up facing bankruptcy again.

It's just too bad they don't have an SUV in the size of the Trailblazer/Envoy. They sold a lot of those in Texas.

With production being shut down there sadly the only solution to get a newish ute will be to import one when its possible.

Oh and theres also been mention of a new Cuda coming out as well but i have no clue where that stands.
The Holden UTE is no longer being manufactured (or 2015 is the final year?) so our only hope is to purchase used and pay the 100% chicken tax. This is why it never had real hopes of being imported and why we will not see the Nissan 1-Ton or the new Mercedes-Benz.

Not sure when the final year of production is for the Ute, but this was back before bankruptcy and I believe it was under consideration after bankruptcy as well. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this one...

There was the planned but canceled Pontiac G8 ST. When the VF Commodore range debuted the VF Ute was planned for North America as a Chevrolet but that was canceled as well.

Here's some info on the 2.8 turbo diesels for the mid-size trucks.

Apparently ATS has been recalled and stop-saled because the buttons to operate the sunroof don't meet government regulations for how much force is required to push them.

You can't make this sh*t up.

Not that it really matters, but did they specify whether it is too easy or too hard to push them?

The controls for the tilt and slide of the roof aren't recessed enough to meet government standards for the force necessary to operate the buttons. The Feds believe that someone could accidentally activate the auto-close and potentially be at risk. At the time, Cadillac dealers installed a new trim plate to add the needed clearance.
