Can a 2010 2SS have a wider track easily? Want it like the 1LE

Hi, I found a 2010 SS2 that's in pretty good shape, and I'm wondering if the wheels can be swapped to give the car a wider appearance like a 2SS 1LE model. Wondering if it can just be done by swapping wheels, and not adding spacers that might affect the car's handling.

Also wondering if this car can be made to handle like a 1LE by adding stabilizer bars and shocks.
Thanks,
J

You can buy wider wheels that will give you that more aggressive stance without having to use spacers. I had 20x10.5 rims and they stuck out well and looked good. You just have to be cautious of possible rubbing issues.

Nice house

The chassis is the same from the V6 all the way to the Z28, so any wheels and suspension parts that fit one model/trim level (of a given year, at least) will fit the rest. I have several suspension parts from the ZL1 and Z28 on my V6, and plan to go with ZL1-spec wheels at some point, as many others have.

FYI, the wheel specs for the ZL1 (or 1LE) wheels are 20x10 +23 offset front and 20x11 +43 offset rear; my tires of choice will be 275/40 front and 315/35 rear which, again, many peeps have done with no rubbing issues.

Good luck!

I would look to vendors such as are on here like Phastek, and to BMR for suspension upgrades that surpass 1le standards and are better made, and don't go too stiff or your going to be butt hurt....LOL

yes, I have a 2012 RS V6 with MRR 20x10, 20x11 Rear. These are the 2017 1LE replica wheels, and they rock! I purchased from Phastek.
I also have the 1LE strut bar, and BMR 3 way adjustable Sways. I used to have the springs but couldn't get them off my old car quick enough before trading it. (the car in my signature)

Thoroughly enjoying the Hotchkis Race Pack... tuned for our cars, thicker sways/endlinks than the 1LE. Get the 1LE shocks if you need to, but you will not feel like you do. You will feel a great improvement in handling with this set.

Don't skimp out on the Chassis Max Brace either... this thing is top notch.

Edit: also, I have 285s up front w/ no problems

I went with the ZL1 20x10 and 20x11. I have 315s in the rear and 335s in storage. I hope the 335s fit, if not I'll sell them locally (I got a great deal on them in the 1st palce).

Thanks for the replies, this is helpful. Does anyone know how much a set of the 1LE rims would cost? The nice "deep dish" ones, like these....
