What's everyone doing for exhaust?
I currently have PFADT Tri-Y headers & cats, but still on the stock catback. I've heard a lot of people don't mess with the catback, maybe because of the dual mode. However I pulled my fuse within the first week, so I'm not really using the dual mode.
One thing I do like about my current set up is that there isn't much drone and it isn't too loud cruising, yet WOT is pretty loud. My last Camaro was very loud all the time and had a lot of drone which I got sick of over time. Basically I want thing thing to really scream when you get on it. Not sure what catback systems out there are good for the Z, so I'm looking for suggestions.

cat delete will make it scream. I had to add a third muffler because the cat delete was louder than I enjoyed. With cats gone, and the fuse pulled, you are essentially straight piped.

I'd like to keep that cats for emissions and I don't like the smell w/o cats. Although I see you're in Houston, you must know some guys, because everywhere around me is a PITA with emissions.

Put the fuse back in, do the cat delete. This is exactly my set up and exactly what I think your saying you want.
1- The aftermarket cat back systems DO NOT make more power than the stock. 2- No drone at all at cruising speed. 3- Will wake the dead at WOT. 4- Power increase w/o cats. Not sure what a "PITA with emissions" is......Louisiana here. But u can reinstall the cats very easily if needed for a emission inspection.

Well if you do decide to get rid of your stock exhaust , you have a buyer.

I originally meant to keep it, but really hate to hang onto exhaust parts. |
