Cats

My two cents is hollow out or remove your Cat Converters. I have or had high flow SLP Cats on a full headers back to a loudmouth exhaust. I'm E-Force on 10lbs of boost at that time. Melted them down after about 5k miles and threw the chunks into the x-pipe, which caused a piston land to go bad.
So I forged the bottom and made it stronger then kept the cats hollow
Get rid of them or it will cost you!! Don't chance it.

Thanks Highjumper. Just poked around the web a bit and have seen quite a bit of this. Now to debate on hollowing out my looks hi flows or try and sell them and get cat delete pipes.

Ordered the whipple today. Hoping it will be shipped by the end of next week. I'm heading to Nashville the following week and I'd like to start the install next weekend.

Headers are in, working on the ZL1 pump now. Heads up to any one dropping the tank, the EVAP line connectors are push in tabs, don't pull them out. It was a costly mistake because I had to buy all new lines.
Still waiting on delivery of the whipple. I was told 3-5 weeks.

Yeah, dropping the tank is a HUGE PITA!!! That sucks that you broke those lines, brother. The wait will be worth it....

Well, finally received the whipple kit on Thursday. Over 10 weeks to get it shipped and wouldn't have received it yet if my shop didn't hound them daily on it. They say they are 800 units behind at whipple. I should start the install on Wednesday.

Did have a quick question. I'm told I can run the whipple tune safely even with mods. The sheet that came with the whipple clearly states at the top that whipple doesn't custom tune to aftermarket mods, but then on step six of the sheet it asks you email the stock tune with any mods to whipple to their email address. Will they still send me a tune if I list my mods? Or should I just say stock motor when i get the tune from them? I'm driving the car only to the tuner and won't go WOT at all until I get the custom tune from my tune shop.

BTW, can't say enough about Speed, Inc in Shaumburg, Il. Their customer service turned what could have been a horrible experience into one that makes me a loyal customer.

Well, went to have the car tuned today and could not. They are telling me the fpcm is throwing a code. Time to take it back home and see what I can do. Anyone have any thoughts?
Edit: throwing code p069e
Could this be because I'm running msd bap and the zl1 fpcm?

If you plan to change blower pulleys to anything smaller then a 3.75 you will need to upgrade to a 8 or 10 rib system. I went through Pegasus in Alabama, for about 1200.00 they got me a 10 rib system that came with a new water pump that has the new pulley already pressed on. only pulley I needed to buy was a 10 rib ATI dampener that ran about 450. I started having belt slip issues at the 3.625 pulley and would shred a belt in 1-2 passes at the track. well worth the cash

no. I am also running the MSD BAP ZL1 pump and ADM FPCM. I would give Andy a call at ADM

Did you update the tune with the updated data for the ADM FPCM?

I don't know about the tune. I'm going to a very reputable LS tuner out of the Chicago area and I mentioned that there were parameters that I received with the fpcm. Frustrated tonight, but tomorrow I'll be calling Andy and my tuner again. He was able to upload a base tune and I drove it home. No codes when I got home, so I'm not sure if it only throws it at WOT. I can't say enough about everyone's customer service. Andy with ADM has answered all my questions so far and my tuner at Speed, inc didn't charge me at all for today. When it comes to tuning, I'm not as smart as I need to be to fully grasp everything.

Just got the printout from them dyno. 635 horsepower and 566 torque! Pretty happy with the numbers. Should be behind the wheel in about a half hour or so. Tuner is road testing it now.
