Very interested to see as well.

Just a question Marlon. I'm wondering if there was any reason not to trade-in/sell the V6 1LS and spend the money on a 2012 V8?

Don't let the naysayers bother you. Best of luck to you. Coming from the guy who performed the first swap using a US built Wrx drivetrain in to the older two door Impreza 2.5rs I can tell you stuff like this can be done.

Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Be interesting to see how a L99 does with the manual transmission. I remember someone trying to do the V6 to V8 swap and gave up after spending 10K. Best of luck OP!

I appreciate all the support. Wiring harness will be here in a few days. Once i get it I will proceed to installing set up and the real challenge begins. Will post pics as I progress.

And as for a reason... I would like to consider myself a car enthusiast that enjoys building, designing, driving, etc. I am a senior studying Mechanical Engineering at University of Memphis if that also explains the thrill of a mechanical challenge. My goal in life is to produce at least one concept car that is fully designed and built by myself and a great engineering team. This is for me, not to impress anyone, and the car has a lot of sentimental value to me.

If you use the interior harness and matching BCM to the donor car that your engine harness and ecu is from and assuming you also grabbed the cluster and the steering column that also matches the key, theres no reason this swap wouldnt work as long as youve kept everything from the donor SS that was SS specific.

People who think its impossible to do a swap like this are the ones who need to understand how the stock system in the car works. Every module needs to communicate with one another.

Good luck.

Every single person that tries a V6 to V8 swap brings up sentimental value lmao

Money can make anything happen. People are just negative. If someone put an LS Into a Mini Cooper (YouTube it) why can't you put an LS into a v6? I find that hard to believe. Sure it may be more cost effective to sell the v6 and get an SS but then again you don't know OP's situation.

There are 5 wires for L99 crank sensor and only 3 for LS3. 3 of the wires are the same. Just wondering if the other 3 are for VVT? I looked at the wire diagrams for harness pins and it doesn't say.
