I Dunno Why I'm Posting This lol, Just Curious Really
the thing is, there have been alotta discussions about the Camaro's competitors from the mustang to the 370z and i made it my business to sit in the 370Z, the '10 stang, the chally, the mini, the M3, and the genesis coupe
and to be honest the M3 was the most comfy and believe it or not the genesis was a close 2nd folowed by the mustang the challly and then the Z BUT there is one thing that struck me about the Genesis coupe , that is that the gas pedal is constructed like you see in a cartoon, when they put the pedal to the floor, that is to say the back curved part behind the pedal that connects into the engine bay comes up from the floor rather than from underneath Just curious to hear your guys thoughts because i've never seen actually this, granted though, i've never really driven foreign cars

yes... I believe the C5 and the GTO both had traditional style pedals and electronic throttle systems

Yes this is the only car I have seen with the bottom pivot. The Porsches were bottom pivot on the clutch and brake, very weird to drive. I don't recall if they were bottom pivot on the gas as well.

The 1970 Z28 had this floor mounted gas pedal set-up. I believe '70 was the only year it had it. I might be off base here, but I think it was done to better compete in the SCCA TransAm Road Race circuit. It was considered better due to more heel-and-toe contact during hard braking and acceleration.

It's called "accordion type" accelerator pedal. Yes, its based on electronic throttle body. There is a sensor beneath the pedal itself that measures the amount of pressure applied to it and opens the throttle body with the equivalent amount. The entire system is called "Drive-by-Wire". With this technology, the days of stuck throttle bodies and loose cables are history.
