Dealer trade in

Have any of you tried to trade in your 2010 2SS L99 at a dealer? What kind of numbers did they offer you on trade? How many miles and what color is the car you traded or had appraised?

Someone told me they were getting 23k for their 2SS non rs in a dealer trade on a new truck. I don't know the mileage. I'd see www.KBB.com.

$26,000 to 31,000

These SS's that are hitting the market are in great shape and require no repairs, maintenance nor re-conditioning. Figure $3000 profit. A GM dealer will spend a grand to certify it, but he will charge a grand more for the privilege, so certification is a wash.

That means if they are asking $30 to 35K for 2SS's, they will pay you no more than $26k-$31K on trade. If you are an 'easy mark', use the lower number. Easy mark = bad credit, weak shopper, ignorant, confused about the numbers, overly exited about new car, etc. (hint...don't be an easy mark)

Also, they can confuse you by giving a lot more for your trade than you thought, but then raping you on the price of the new car. They will quickly figure out what you like best (high trade-in or low new-car price) because you can't have both! They then offer up the one that makes you feel better. If you get raped on both ends...well... you deserve it I guess.
