I had that setup with stock cam. 3.875 made just under 11psi. If you cam it you can go to 3.75. Tuned by Ted. No cats.

Here is where I need some guidance. To CAT or not to CAT is the 1st question no inspections here in TN, and second pulley size for the boost. I currently have the 4" pulley which will give me 9 pounds of boost. I talked to Whipple about going to a 3.875 or 3.750 and they could not give me an answer. They said I would have to see where the boost was after the mods are done because the headers drop the boost 1-2 lbs. The problem is as you know is Dyno time and cost to send the car back to the dyno after waiting a few days to get the right pully size. Based on your experience having done a ton of these motors, running 93 octane which size would give me the best performance??
Hello Chris, good to hear from you I can easily answer all of your questions but I need to get some specific answers and look up your history so I can better help you please call 203-753-7223

I bought my used LSA setup for my L99 and would like to use the items from the kit for my drive system so will this work? If it does, will I just need to add a zl1 balancer to complete this other than belt?

Without knowing exactly what those parts were intended for and where they came from we can not advise you accurately.

Most LSA conversions use the L99/LS3 balancer and 6 rib belt.

If you are wanting to move to an 8 Rib you have to purchase an 8 rib L99/LS3 Balancer and related pulleys for PS, Alternator, Idler etc.

If you are wanting to run the LSA ZL-1 CTSV drive system you will have to purchase they entire front accessory drive system waterpump and all.

Ted.

Hi Ted. Remember me?? Its been a while. Still running your last tune you did for me a few years ago and its still great.

I did get rid of the Mr Freeze water meth kit and went to a Snow Performance progressive kit with a 300 psi pump and a 25 gph prometh nozzle and went up to 80% meth by weight. I just adjusted the start and full on points to get the afr back to where it was with the Mr Freeze kit you tuned in for me. On a 50 degree day I saw iats float from upper 20s to upper 30 degrees so I’m happy knowing that’s working well.

Still running the ECS V3 Si with the 7.9" lower and 3.33 upper. Seeing about 13 to 13.5 psi up top, shifts at 6300ish automatically.

Question is, if I would go up to a Novi 1500SL with the "heritage gears" which are 3.45 step up ratio instead of 3.6 like the current Si blower, but run the same pulley combo, I would be spinning it to about 51,500 impeller speed instead of the 54,000 ish im spinning the Si to. Do you think I would see more than 15 psi? I’d like to see 14, no more than 15.

I might just try it and see. I love the self lubricating blowers but I still miss the sound of the V1 T trim I had on my 89 vette.

Mostly just wanted to say hi and tell you the reason you haven't heard from me in a few years is that all is still good!

Hi Dan, Good to hear from you, I am glad all is well.

The 1500 moves quite a bit more air, years ago I did back to back testing on the V3 VS the YSI which is similar to the 1500, same pulleys made same boost but more power with YSI.

Ted.

Go for it but make sure you log and check the tune.

Currently at 88% ethanol content. Is it harmful to the tune at all when you go over 85%?
