For the record, I saw significant gains with first the JBA high flow cats and second the JBA shorties. They were part of the whole bolt-on package that got my stock A6 from 13.2 @ 106 to 12.1 @ 113.

All this done with NO MOTOR TUNE.

The shorties stayed on when I added the ProCharger and served well at 620rwhp. There I was running 10.8's at 128.

When I was preparing for the next stage, I added JBA Long Tubes and dynoed again. Guess what? 620rwhp. No change, AT THAT POWER LEVEL.

But when I CNC ported the heads and lowered the CR, then the JBA LT's really shine: 720rwhp/680tq, 10.3 @ 133.

Point is, headers are part of a whole package. Shorties are a good part of a BOLT-ON package but are maxed out with the Supercharger. LT's are good for both: bolt-on and big HP.

Since performance gains are noticeable with shorties, then I feel their other benefits need to be considered: less expensive, self-install, can be run without a tune (as I did), will pass most emission inspections.

Yes, LT's are great, but Shorties hold their own. And I've been happy with my JBAs for both.

I have JBA ceramic headers and they have been great since day one.

We do have an awesome promo going on them right now. Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime for details or with questions.

Why are you suggesting shorty or ported stock manifold for track timevs long tube cat equipped headers? If so would you please elaborate on why? I'm just trying to gain some insight, thank you.

I was suggesting KOOKS long tube headers with green cats. The Green cats do not cause a CEL and can be ran without tuning. I would not suggest shorty headers as I feel they are not worth the cost vs benefit. Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.
