my car is currently in the shop getting a custom grind cam motion cam with similar specs (23x/24x) and 12 degree heads.

I went with the AFR 260 Mongoose LS3 heads milled ".030 to get 64cc chambers to get the boost in compression too.

Car has been in the shop since monday and im supposed to pick it up this tuesday and my builder hasnt said anything about flycutting and he was doing the PTV check this past Thursday

Nice, I was looking at those exact heads as well but ended up with the trick flows. Please post your before and after results when you get them, it will be great to compare to mine when mine is done. What was the compression ratio after milling?

using this

http://www.wallaceracing.com/cr_test2.php

4.065 bore
3.622 stroke
4.080 head gasket bore
0.051 head gasket compressed thickness
0.000 cc piston dome
-.006 piston deck

i got a SCR of 11.46:1 which is right around where i want to be with 91 octane

im doing E85 flex fuel kit later on this year and re-dynoing again to calibrate the car so that it adjust itself on the fly without needed to retune whenever i put whatever gas (or mixture of) between 91 and E85. With straight E85 and the added compression, im hoping to see an additional 30 or so RWHP.

Awesome results, I am curious to see what kind of improvement I will have. I am hoping for 525rwhp and 475rwtq with the added mods and E-85

Additional 30rwhp is a stretch on e85. I would lower your expectations.

If your using E85 alone as your "Race" fuel it wouldn't bother me to go 12.5:1 With your cam your dynamic compression is less then stock bumping your compression is the only way to get the torque back. E85 14:1 would be ideal on a NA street car if you do not travel with her to need 93 at anytime. 11.5 to one is still 93 safe, I ran 11.7:1 in 2004 on my Grand Am Cup LS1 Build only on 93.

I live in L.A. so 91 is what we got and 11.5 is about as close as i wanted to be with that. There is an E85 station about 6 miles away so thats very doable for track days but not everyday practical. With E85, i think i can get another 20HP and 15ishTQ

And yes, i agree. That is the main reason for having my heads milled: i wanted the torque back

Leaving in about 45 minutes to go pick it up. Its about a 1 hour 20 minute drive. Cant wait

Awesome, I hope its exactly what you were looking for. Post the dyno numbers and seat dyno feel lol.

I have 93 all over the place and E-85 is common here in south Florida. I am thinking around 11.5 to 1 compression will be the best. I will occasionally use 93 butt mostly will be on E85. The heads are still at the shop and they have yet to come back with all the numbers of how much to safely mill. I am curious as to what they recommend
