What Cat Back system?

Sorry for asking this and yes I have searched but so many opinions.

2011 2SS L99. Currently stock but a set of Stainless Works 1-7/8" LT headers are on their way and I'm deleting the Cats.

Everyone says to get rid of the stock resonator so this is a given but what to replace it with? I'm in New Zealand so any cat back system is going to cost me up around $3000 by the time I get it here so it's a big investment and I don't want to cock it up.

I want the classic sound we all love without any drone. I'm not after LOUD but I do want it to be heard unlike it is now. AND I don't like a crackle sounding system.

Feel free to direct me to You Tube clips of suggestions as this helps.

Headers, hi-flo cats, H or X pipe and stock cat back. Cheap and no drone.

I have headers with hi flow cats into a borla s type catback system and i have drone around the 1800-2000 area. With no cats i would probably leave stock resonator and do an agressive axle back. I hate the stock mufflers though. Put on the headers and go from there

Put your headers on first and go from there.

Righto then. I’ll fit the headers and see how it sounds then. Maybe doing a locally made X pipe with the stock rears might work.
All I need now is the headers. They’ve been heading my way for 6 weeks already and I doubt I’ll see them before October.

Did you buy them from Maryland Speed?

You'll be surprised how much extra volume you get by ditching the factory manifolds and cats. Toss the headers on and see if you still need more sound. If you do then it's time for a catback. If you want no drone look into the Solo or Corsa catbacks. We can get just about anything and we can ship internationally with some killer rates too.

No lol. I got them off Dyno Steve and he had them shipped real quick. But I sent them to a shipping agent in Long Beach and they have been pissing around for weeks. From what I’m told the container is still not loaded. Oh well you get that when you’re cheap!

Check out the Solo XL cat back system paired with headers. Nice idle rumble, the J pipes kill drone and make it really quiet at highway speeds, but it roars when you step on it.
