Stripping Paint On Hood Scoop?
Has anyone tried to strip the paint from a painted carbon fiber hood scoop???

I was told the painted carbon fiber inserts were the ones that did not have the best looking weave, so if you intend to clear coat the exposed weave it may not be what you expected.

You can't strip it w/o damage to the carbon underneath, your out of luck unless you get a new one or send yours in to have new carbon fiber laid on then clear coated. That's the path I have chosen, my insert is removed right now.

You really can't strip the paint to expose the weave. If you're stripping it to paint it a different color, your painter would prep it just like any other car part.
