"Build Your Own" Camaro Convertible Configurator up on Chevy Site

I apologize is this is a duplicate post but I couldn't find any - you can build your own convertible on the Chevrolet site.

Does anybody else have trouble with the Chevy site? I always get "error on page" messages and can't get it to function properly.

Will the site let you put different colors on ragtop body's?

They are WAY overpriced. Thousands more than a new Mustang ragtop, similarly equiped. Sorry to say, they are going to lose a lot of sales over that alone. I was thinking of getting one. Not now. Might have to look at a Ford.

I'm pretty sure they've close to "sold out" with the pre orders for the first 20,000 units they are releasing for 2011

I for one am glad they cost more than the mustang. Maybe people who drive the Vert Camaro will be in a class by themselves instead of being one of many driving the same car. Just my two cents - -

$44,750 for the one I built, glad I'm not a Vert fan.

Oopsie on the part of the Chevy website?

Looks pretty good though. I'm plenty happy with my 1LT coupe, but man would the convertible have looked sharp with ABM paint and white rally stripes. Considering all the "WTF?"'s that cancellation decision earned on sites like this, I'm certain they would've earned a few bucks making it an extra-cost color option - ABM looks every bit as good as IOM and RJT in my opinion. Oh well.

And yeah it's pricey, but price comes with quality. Still not a bad deal for what you get.

To a lot of people, a large price difference matters. I am sure the died in the wool Camaro guys will buy at any price. But soon, those guys have their cars, and GM then needs to compete for the rest of the audience. To them, a Camaro, good looking, but no longer unique, will have a hard time competing against a much cheaper, and high quality, Mustang.
