Belt Size for 3.2" Magnacharger Pulley

Hi Guys,

I have a Maggie with 3.6" pulley and want to upgrade to 3.2".

I've searched everywhere possible and have no clue what belt size I should get.

If any of you know what size I should get and what are the best brands that would be great.

I have to get it right since I'm ordering it to Dubai - yes it's super hot here

Don't waste your time. That pulley will cause you beat slip. As low as you'll want to go with a 6 rib is a 3.4. And with that I'd recommend a JRE super tensioner.

Are you 100% sure about that? Coz the tuner seems to think that i can go as far as 3.2" any smaller then I would require the 8 rib kit.

Go ahead listen to your tuner. And then have him pay for the 3.4 when you need it.

Thanks but any idea of the belt size and brand I should be aiming at for 3.2"?

I decided to buy an 8 rib kit

Overdrive the rears. With a 3.8" front and overdriven rears, it's like running a 3.27 front with 1:1 rear pulleys. Much less likely to slip with the 3.8" front.

I'm a total dumbo when it comes to that, you're gonna have to explain what you mean. Sorry

I ran a 3.2 6 rib, it did slip some but no a lot, also have the JRE super tensioner. I went to a 10% OD and 8 rib and it still slips alittle but I make 10.5-11 psi. I think I run a 93.75-94" belt.

You have two pulleys on the back of your blower. Both 3.25". That's driving the blower at a 1:1 ratio. A set of overdrive pulleys would be a 3.49" pulley driving a 3" pulley. That will turn your blower about 16% faster than the 1:1 setup. If you do that, you can use a 3.8" pulley on the front. Bigger pulleys have more belt wrap, therefore, less likely to slip.

All you need to buy are the pulleys. The bolts and the rear belt are reused. You can probably reuse the serp belt that you're currently using.

stay with your belt and adjust your idler pulley ( the one that is just below and to the right of the drive pulley) slide it to the left about 1/2" to 3/4", this will give you more belt wrap around the pulley and will help with belt slippage. but a jannetty tensioner will deffinently help. with my set up and elevation a 3.8 pulley on my maggie is only putting out 5 lbs, with a 3.2 its putting out 9 lbs and no belt slippage, but i have several tunes for my car (and pulleys) and only run the 3.2 pulley at the track

In case you decide to go the rear "OD" route, I just wanted to let you know that I have a brand new set that has never been used. PM me for details.
