I've been kicking around the idea of a Nissan Titan too. Kind of a two year stopgap truck. They seem to go pretty cheap...probably for good reason.
Really it makes no sense to shop lightly used trucks at this point. What I found was that on most 1-2 yro low mileage trucks the asking price was very near what a new vehicle could be purchased for with discounts. I used the USAA car buying service, along with repeat customer discount to come to my price on this truck. Honestly all the new trucks are quality machines, it's just what brand or style do you prefer.

Bought a 2011 2500 Larame Mega Cab new and I have ZERO complaints! It pulls my 37' 5th wheel with no problems. Like others have said, if you wait for the right deals you can get some amazing discounts.

My 2001 cummins has 210k miles on it. the lift pump and the injection pumps replaced, but other than that I had very few problems with it.

Nice, my buddy picked up 2012 4wd Hemi Express qc for $25,500 last year in CA.

Look's like yours with the painted bumpers but in black.

I've been driving HD diesel Ram's since 2002 and all three have held up to the serious abuse I put them through. I'm talking about 4wd boosted launches with twice the amount of factory torque, hitting ruts off road at speed, drag racing, snow wheeling, etc. Everyone I know has converted to Ram trucks. Cant go wrong with a six cylinder Cummins , NV-5600 six speed manual, Dana 60 front and Dana 80 rear.

I looked at everything out there in the truck market you can't beat the value and looks of the new rams they are gorgeous and very reliable. Not to mention the 5.7 is one hell of a great motor.

Is there a particular issue with one or both you experienced? When my brothers 5.9 was torn down at well over 100k miles the internals were still perfect. From everything I have seen and experienced says you are exagerating, just like if I was to say all GM 5.3s were junk because of the well known issues they had the first few years they were made. Or all Ford 5.4s were bad because of the little well known issues involving spark plugs. And please don't feed me any bull that Chrysler had any worse quality than GM or Ford, i have had plenty of each, especially from the 90s and none of them were great and they all 3 needed work on their transmissions at that time, actually GM was the wiorst, we have had 4 of the wonderful w-bodies that decided to puke their transmissions at just over 100k miles, never had that problem with the Chryslers. Fact is until recently all 3 had spotty wuality problems.
the hell man? I can sense the anger from my screen

Just bought my 13' Ram in October. Love everything about it so far, except the MDS (cylinder deactivation). Bad driveline vibration around 35-45 mph (which is common with the Hemi's from what I've seen on internet) Simple work-around is to put it in manual mode, top gear when driving around town in slower traffic, and not out on the open road....Then it still shifts automatically, but stays in V8 mode. Small inconvenience to do the 3 second toggle thru gears when put into drive each time....other than that, AWESOME TRUCK! Ride is incredible, very solid, quiet cabin, very nice interior. Was debating between this and a new F 150 STX, since I was always partial to Ford trucks (3 in our family over years) Ride not near as good in the Ford, and when shutting doors, felt very tiny, and interior very plain-jane. Very happy with the Ram. (ok, one other small nit-pick-On regular cab model like mine, they put SIRIUS antennae on leading edge of roof, driver side, instead of rear-ward, centered.....Since moving it isn't a viable option, I got ahold of salvaged 2nd antennae on ebay, took the electronics out, and will (3M tape) underside of outer shell on other side of cab roof next spring, so atleast it looks balanced-Twin Satellite..lol

Nice looking truck. I think they moved the antenna due to the HD guys complaining about reception with 5th wheels attached.

Thanks! Yep I think you're right. Most of the regular cab Rams are work trucks, and with high ladder racks, etc, likely interferes with reception back further on roof.

My father works for a company that owns hundreds of trucks. As of the early 2000's they stopped buying anything made by dodge because of the constant issues with them. IMO, you can tell the value of a truck by how well the hold up in a work environment. I would stick with GM and ford as far as trucks go.

One thing I will mention about two friends with 2005 Dodge Rams: ( a 2500 and a 3500 w/Cummins). Both of these guys had problems with the death wobble. One parted with his, the other got a lift kit with all new suspension and has no problems now.

We stopped buying fords due to how they hold up under work conditions. Fords are the definition of garbage. Dodge makes a much better truck. Better ride, more features, more power, its just a better truck. After the 02-03 body change nothing beats a dodge.
