Exclamation Weekly Order Constraints FEB 19,2009

A little busy this morning guys, have some GM guests here, so I'll save the long winded report and just give you the facts.

THE FINAL ALLOCATION "BY WEEK" REPORT IS OUT. Any dealer getting a Camaro can tell you what week the order will be tagged and pulled...a process that start son Thursday through Saturday.

TODAY, ORDERS ARE BEING TAGGED AND RELEASED for production consideration...estimate build weeks of orders released today 3/16-3/22

CONSTRAINTS SHOWN TO US BY GM TODAY ARE:

1EE37 1LS - 0 AVAILBALE NATIONALLY
1EF37 1LT - 0 AVAILABLE NATIONALLY
1EH37 2LT - 0 AVAILABLE NATIONALLY

GBV - CYBER GREY - 0 AVAILABLE NATIONALLY
VYV HUST SHIFTER LPO - 0 AVAILABLE NATIONALLY

If you order allocation is to be pulled this week and one of your order items are on this list, either you'l have to change the order or wait until dealer has another allocation slot. You CANNOT defer allocation....

ALL dealers know between now and 3/12 when and how many Camaro's will be released..we do not know what they are until we review this report each and every week...folks, these are the facts and hope they help.

Thumbs up

Thanks, although my dealer didn't get a March availability so I won't be built till April. When is the consensus for April?

This really makes me sad. I simply cannot understand the logic behind putting off *sold* V6 orders so that each dealer can have one camaro. We are talking about sold orders here. This whole thing is very off-putting, especially considering there is no telling when Chevy will begin to accept sold V6 orders.

Thank you for the info though.

So...my dealer said his first allocation will be received on 5 March...he didn't receive anything for this first run (3/16 - 3/22)...or at least that is what I take it as?

The next run he will not either (3/23 - 3/29) based on his first allocation being 5 March.

I am to assume (considering no constraints) I would be in the next batch (3/30 - 4/5) since I am #1 at the dealer?

Is this correct? Again, assuming no constraints at the time?

Legend, it's the monthly concensus that tells your dealer how many pre-orders he'll get to submit for a 30 day build period. The allocation, which is weekly (the OP above) tells him what type of car he can order, based on the constraints. If he got zero cars in the Feb. concensus for the 3/16 - 3/31 build period, then he may get some in the early March concensus for the April 1-30 build period. So your order might be submitted in April sometime.
Note, the Feb. concensus was only for a two week period to the end of March!

Thanks EVS guys!

oK I need to vent. Don't get me wrong I am a huge camaro fan and have been forever. Plus i will wait ever how long i have to to get my car. I ordered a v6 back in october. The camaro has been delayed over and over again for this or that reason since they first said the camaro would go into production. I mean wouldn't you think after all the delays that gm would be at the top of there game and have no constraints what so ever. I mean they have had long enough. Its just sad that people who have the money put there name down months ago are going to have to wait on a car to be put at dealers for those to come in a buy a car and get it the same time or before us who have been waiting so patiently for years.

I just got a call from my dealer in here in Houston and he informed me that my Cyber Grey 2SS has been pulled for production starting March 16, 2009. SO......... maybe the threads about Cyber Grey being delayed are not 100% accurate??? I guess we shall see what plays out in the next few weeks. I am so amped right now!

This settles it, dumping VYV when my dealer calls back. As much as I want it on the sticker, I'll add it later, I need a car.

According to another recent report, the Hurst Shifter has changed codes and is now an RPO. You can still get it but you will have to tell the dealer to change it to the RPO code once the code is released.

I think you need to re-read. I believe it said that it would be added LATER as an RPO, but any near-term orders need to have it removed.

If I were Chevrolet...

I would concentrate on getting the SS and 2SS's out on the street first. This would create the buzz that will drive more demand for less expensive models over the next 6 months or so, helping them to get to their break even numbers sooner. This also positions them for higher sales when the economy eases up a bit.

Do you think that is the strategy?

How does this make sense...maybe it was pulled and will just sit and wait in the system or what?
