I just replaced the resonator section with a X-pipe and honestly the AFM isn't bad. I can feel it when it kicks in but can't really hear it that much.

I would NOT put glass packs on. I would do like everyone is saying and do the true x muffler from Magnaflow. If that isnt loud enough for you then you could do some Magnaflow competition mufflers(axle back exhaust)

So if u do the muffler delete w the x pipe are you supposed to remove the resonators or does it matter? Also can u keep the stock tips or do u need to replace themThanks
I am assuming you have the M6 since you refer to resonators. What is your concern with removing the resonators?

I have the GMPP mufflers on it, so the idea was use X-Pipe and 2 12 inch glass packs to replace the resonator. It should louden it up but the packs should help with the AFM. I do not want to waste the GMPP mufflers. Really like them.

Did anyone put on the Magnaflow muffler and leave rear mufflers? That is what I would like to hear some input if it still sounds good or gets to quite.

If you look at the Corsa L99 exhaust it looks just like what I am talking about, X-Pipe and then some glass packs type things.

The Factory resonator on the L99 is specifially designed and tuned to eliminate the AFM resonance, I would not expect you to be able to eliminate the resonance with a set if glass packs.

I also would not expect to much in the way of performance Either.

All I can suggest is, Cut it Neatly because your going to need to be able to put it back on.

Ted.

I deleted the resonator and replaced it with a custom x-pipe. I dont know if freed up any hp, but I picked up an honest 6 mpg on the highway with it gone.

No disrespect but 6 MPG???

If it were that Easy GM would have done it.

I think you need to reinstall it and rerun your baseline MPG numbers.

You have to be comparing City to Highway Mileage.

0.6 I can believe.

The car is tuned with afm deleted, with long tubes, cai, and a 3600 stall. On the highway it got 18/19 mpg. Im telling you I couldnt believe I picked up 6....yes 6 mpg. I questioned the whole afm thing myself after I saw the results. At 10mph faster I still got 2mpg better than at 70mph with the resonator in place.

There are many reports of 23-25 MPG highway on both stock and modified Camaros.

I thought your baseline numbers had to be low.

As long as your Happy with it that is all that counts.

Ted.

The x-pipe will replace the resonator, so you will have to find a new home for the resonator.

Yes, you can keep or re-use the stock tips

I have the 14 in Magnaflow Tru-X muffler and no other mufflers. This combination is NOT loud - sounds good, deep and growley. The Tru-X muff is quieter than the stock resonator with muffler delete but sounds MUCH better.
