Mine got worse as it broke in. I was in the 19-20 city at first then by about 1500 miles I was down to 16.8 and it has hung out at that point since.

The dealer put 308 miles on my car to bring it to my dealer, so I am not sure how it did on the highway from PA to MA. But since I picked it up I put 72 miles on it and the DIC indicates 20.1 Mpg. My truck average fuel usage is dead on, so I assume the Camaro is as well.

Brand new I was getting about 15.5 mpg. After 8k miles I started to get 17 out of the blue. After installing the hurst shifter and shifting at about 1.8-2k rpm I'm now getting 17.2-17.5 mpg in the city

Not sure if I'm taking it too easy, but so far after 800 miles I'm averaging 21.5 mpg for combined city/hwy in a 2SS/RS...

Just looked at my option sheet, it says 21 mpg city and 36 hwy.....WTF???
It's a 2SS w/ L99

I honestly don't know how the heck they can justify those BS numbers. No one can get that mileage, unless you're driving in a vacuum...LOL

I could only get 22 MPG when my SS/A6 was new (600 miles) with cruise control set for one hour @ 70 MPH.
Now with 7,000 plus miles its much improved. It gets 24-25 MPG with normal highway driving @ 65-75 MPH.

Sounds like a misprint to me. It should be more like 18 city and 22 highway on the SS.

I've put 2500mi on a SS LS3 & consistently get 21.5 mpg. I get on it at times, but there are quite a few 20 mi / 65 mph cruise control trips. Not nearly as good as my '07 stang GT, which did 25 pretty easy. Stang doesn't have 426 hp, either.

Skip shift (1-3-5/6) and use cruise - you'll see the numbers improve.

Enjoy!

So far I seem to be getting on average 12 mpg or roughly 20 ltr/km. Now I have accidentally had my foot to the floor more than a few times, but has your gas mileage gotten better as the car breaks in and you get more miles on it? Supposed to get somewhere around 19 city and 34 highway isnt it?

And driving like Miss Daisy aint gonna happen, too hard to restrain oneself with this car!
Let her break in and keep re-setting the DIC. It should get better.

I keep doing that... but it hasn't fixed the mpg problem I have with my right foot!

I am really interested in knowing how they calculate the MPG on the DIC. How long before the old data fall out of the calculation?
