Side Stealth Sub Enclosure Preview

Okay, many of you have been anxiously waiting on what we've been working on for a side mount box, so I wanted to show you guys first. Below are some photos for your enjoyment. Keep in mind that this is design 1 of 2 for the driver's side. I'll probably have design 2 ready for next week if all goes well. I wanted to work on design 1 first because I really wanted to push the envelope as much as possible and fit the biggest subs in there as possible.

In order to to fit the biggest subs and have the most air space possible, we had to trim the sidewall carpeting some. What this does is really opens things up and allows a box to go way further. If you get time, take a peek behind your side carpet and you'll see how much real estate is back there to be had. So design 1 capitalizes on a lot of that unused space that is blocked off by the carpet. Design 2 will be more of a drop in style, and will have more limitations on what can fit in it because it won't go as deep.

But here's what we've done so far
Remember, these are 100% mdf boxes. I can post up some specs if anyone asks.

So while JL is copying our big rear fire box, we are once again 2 steps ahead of them. Ahead of the curve my ass.

The weight isn't really bad at all. About the same as removing one muffler from under the car. When I get a chance, I'll weigh the box.

Where's the amp located? And how easy is it to get the sub/amp combo wired into the existing system? I'm also curious if the wiring allows for a seperate bass control knob to be placed somewhere up front...

That's what I did, bit more room and the countour was easier to work with. Although I'm only using a 10" sub.

I have a question - I was thinking about doing a custom setup with one 6.5 inch sub and one 8 inch sub - would the normal stealth enclosure work for that or would it be necessary to use the bigger one?

Two questions Steve...

One: Will you make a box for the passenger side?

Two: Will you make a box that doesnt involve cutting the side carpet? I dont need a ton of base, and I want to be able to remove the box and not have a huge hole in my trunk carpeting.

Your work looks awesome and is very reasonable, I would definitely order a setup from you if you can oblige the above questions!
