Goonzquad on YouTube

I haven’t seen a thread on this, so I thought I would give a shout out to the boys on the Goonzquad channel on YouTube. It is very well done, and well worth watching the ZL1 series.
These two guys buy totaled muscle/sports cars and do detailed series on each rebuild. They have 20 episodes on a 2018 hyper blue ZL1 that was apparently totaled because it rolled off the delivery trailer. It has no miles on it, because it wasn’t running the airbags didn’t go off. The front and rear were heavily damaged and it is VERY interesting watching these guys tear into it, and buy all new OEM parts, and do an awesome job putting it back together!
They aren’t done modding it yet, and I can’t wait for the final test drive...

Welllllll, for those of us that don’t have a reason to go to the ZL1 forum, might not have seen it...... it is a great series on rebuilding a Camaro.... Also, why would anyone search for something they never heard of. Nevertheless, thanks for your input.

Couple of threads already, but no sweat, these guys do deserve another one for their hard work, and especially for tackling a tough ZL1 rebuild

Just not sure a car with a salvage title will ever be worth the money they put in it. Kudos to them for sticking with GM parts though.

Got the car in September. 10.45 million views for the month in September, 11.06m in October, 11.94m in November (~ 33,450,000 views for that period alone). They've gained ~ 216,000 subscribers since September for a total of ~ 670k. If a fraction of their viewers/subs buy their merch, that alone would pay for the purchase price of the ZL1 (670,000 * .01[1%] = 6,700 t-shirts sold).

I'll translate that from Millenial to typical Camaro buyer/fan: as content creators the purchase price of the salvage cars they buy are incidental to the returns paid though ad revenue, merchandise sales and sponsorships. They're running a successful business, and that business ain't flipping cars.

Exactly, and well said. The act of what they are doing is driving a much bigger business. Thats why those other cars they rebuilt are still sitting in their driveway and garage. No need to sell.

Daaaang, son, if 20 of us had at least their audacity and enthusiasm, there would be a serious shortage on available crunched sports cars, but metal building industry would get a bump!.... lol.... only in ‘Murica
