How to dry your Black Camaro without water spots
I've been having a lot of trouble getting the water spots off the car after I wash it. I've tried washing at night when the sun went down, still water spots. I've bought the California squegee & Cham, still water spots before I could get the car dry. I finally got a tip from an automotive detailer I know. Use an electric leaf blower with a 100mph wind rating, I bought a cheap one at Walmart. I have a Black 2SS/RS and this is the best thing I've come across in a long time. No more bending over and hurting your back trying to dry down low. It took a total of 5 min to blow dry the whole car!!!! It really does wonders around the grill, headlights, tail lights, and Mirrors where water seeps out after you think you have gotten the whole car dry. Make sure you use an electric leaf blower though because if you use a two stroke gas one, you may blow fumes and gas back onto the car. No more water spots!!!! Ok, now you guy's can laugh at me!

I already posted about this. See the detail section. I think it says "Best way to dry the car". Mixed opinions. Some swear by it some say it's risky for the paint.
I bought one and use it. I also towel dry occassionally. I learned about this on the Zaino website under tips. Here's the post in case you want to see what others said about the idea. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25706 |

When I had my Jet Black BMW when it was the hot summer I would wash it late at night and wipe the car as soon as possible, also keep it wet don't let one side or the other dry keep wetting the whole car down. Also a good coat of wax always helps with the water spots I would wax the car at least once a month. Hope this helps

A mechanic friend of mine would use the air hose from his shop on his Escalade..perfect for the cracks and crevices.

How about save the leaf blower money and hit the road and let the car do the 100 mph.

Yea 60+ normally does the trick. Wash with your own shammy or whatever then rise at the stall then haul ass.

Put on a good coat of your favorite product ....I like Zaino, wash your car and when rinsing it off use only the hose, without a nozzle. Water will sheet off and no water spots. Then give it a blow job

I am gonna do Zanio someday if I ever get another car without bad paint.
I would like a primer grey 2010 with dents so I might not get to use it. |

get yourself a drying towel from a detailing site and dry while the car is still slightly wet.
if you dont get around the whole car before it all drys use some quick detailing spray to clear any spots 3 black cars and the best method i have found, none of the "spot free" or "non streak" shampoos are any good on their own. But ive found duragloss 901 to be the best of the lot! |

Owning my black SS going on 11 years, I've found this works best for me;
- Numerous coats of Zaino. (But if you get a good coat of your preferred wax/polish on the car asap, you'll be fine.) - Wash only when vehicle is cool. - Never wash in sunlight - Rinse well, removing nozzle, and allowing water to cascade over vehicle, which will result in the majority of water "sheeting" away. - Fold high quality towel in half, and lightly drawing it across surface to remove standing water. - I remove water from mirrors, taillights, etc., using a 'Rigid' shopvac. I wash the car outside, but immediately after rinsing, it's quickly put in the garage, where the rest of the detailing takes place. |
